This movie was rank. The portray was shaking and the site was uninteresting. I would not pronounce anybody to steal this movie.
This is my first time writing a review I own. I normally do not write them but I feel compelled to do so due to this movie being so dismal. I don’t want anyone to extinguish their time and money as my mom did when she bought it from a store. Looking at the hide and reading the spot, it appears, I bid, APPEARS to be a salubrious movie. I was thinking more along the lines of Tyler Perry but maybe without the comedy. I was scandalous. The narrate was inferior. It looks like a kid filmed it. The ending was listless and the acting was not convincing. In fact the legend of the characters were too extraordinary. My advice for the producer of this film, he or she should have spent more money in the valid film and not the shroud as the conceal looks professional. But I guess even they realize it was not worth putting an extra dime into the film. What a enormous flop!

It is the same chronicle, the Griswolds are off to wreak havoc on another city. This time Clark decides to catch the whole family to Las Vegas so he and Ellen can renew their wedding vows for their anniversary. They manage to leave their fresh Griswold touch on most Vegas institutions, like a Seigfried and Roy display, a Wayne Newton note and the Hoover Dam. Most of the comedic highlights in this movie advance either when the ultimate white-trash, cousin Eddie is onscreen or when Clark is at the blackjack table.
My approved piece of this movie is Ethan Embry as the most dimwitted Russ to date. He buys a false ID, becomes a high roller and wins 4 cars gambling. I would recommend renting this movie, but not buying it, the ‘bonus’ features are light.

I could spy this 100 times and never gather bored of it. I have never seen any of the other Vacation movies but loved this one. It’s hilarious from beginning to slay. Anyone who is a fan of Chevy Traipse will like this movie. It should have a 5 star rating overall.

Aladdin” continued Disney’s hot streak of family friendly but witty animated classics that broke box office records. Unfortunately, the magic was to last for a couple more movies. No small part of the success of “Aladddin” can be attributed to the songwriting team of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Menken and Ashman (who also wrote the winning songs for “Beauty and The Beast” and “Little Shop of Horrors”). Also, the witty self assured direction, like that of “Beauty and The Beast”, helped define a hip, new Disney that had something for everyone.

So what’s the difference between the “Special Editon” and the “Special Edition Gift Set”. Plenty but as to whether it’s worth the extra cost depends on how much of a fan you are of the film. The “Special Edition” comes only with the DVDs (the featurettes and documentaries are discussed below). The “Special Edition Gift Set” comes with all that plus six original illustrations on heavy stock of characters from the film. You also get a deluxe book that’s housed in a slipcase. It’s very nice, indeed. Now, if I were Disney I also would have included the soundtrack and also made this edition a numbered, limited edition. While it might grow in value until the next generation of disc players come out and this is re-released yet again for Blu-Ray discs, it would have been better for fans to do a limited numbered edition. Oh, and I forgot the film frame from the original movie.
“Aladdin” looks great on DVD with sharp, clear images and bright, vivid colors. I didn’t detect any analog or digital blemishes worth noting. The Disc looks even better than the laserdisc version issued nearly a decade ago and worlds better than the VHS with crisper, clearer sound and a much cleaner more vivid (and colorful)picture. The “Disney Enhanced” 5.1 soundtrack actually improves the dialogue and songs giving them better clarity and added presence.

The extras are a mixed bag but most of them are well worth having. There’s deleted scenes presented in rough pencil animation, deleted songs highlighted by the terrific “Proud of Your Boy”. Clay Aiken sings a version of the song for a music video. We also get “A Whole New World” performed by the dipsy duo of Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. The two hour “A Diamond in the Rough” is a fascinating glimpse behind-the-scenes of this marvelous movie. We also get to see scenes from the deleted storyline for the film. Pop-up trivia facts can also be programmed to play on the DVD player as well. The two audio commentary tracks feature the directors and producer of the film while the second has some very funny commentary from the various character animators involved in the film.
“Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride” is the best of the extras included here. It’s actually not a game per se but a magic carpet ride that’s best experienced on as big a TV as possible with the lights out. It’s as close to a thrill ride ever presented on home video. “Inside the Genie’s Lamb” is a mildly interesting and entertaining glimpse into the Genie’s habitat. We also get “Genie World Tour”. This bit of whimsy is fun and Disney directors actually entertained the notion of putting it on during the end credits at one time. It’s clever and a witty short. “3 Wishes Game” might keep little ones entertained once or twice although some little ones will need help operating the DVD remote to play the game. Parents stay close by so the kids don’t throw the remote at the TV in frustration. You can also select your favorite “Aladdin” songs with onscreen lyrics to help you sing along (God save your neighbors if you’re a bad singer).
All in all a terrific package well worth picking up. “Aladdin” is a funny, charming and entertaining movie with the Disney team at their peak. The “Special Gift Edition” is truly for the hardcore Disney fan that collects everything Disney. The two disc “Special Edition” is more for the casual fan or those that love the movie but just don’t collect Disney stuff. I had some reservations about the DVD release as I was afraid they might screw it up but they didn’t. The only thing missing is a discussion about the original song lyrics that were changed for home video release due to concerns about their anti-Arab sentiments. Also, we don’t get any new footage of Robin Williams but we do see some vintage stuff from his very funny recording sessions.
When Disney’s Aladdin was released on videotape and laserdisc for the first time in October 1993, it debuted with a PC alteration, immediately into the film, as a line from the opening song was changed because of concerns over Arab stereotyping – “Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face” became the neutral “Where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense”.
As the film makes is debut on DVD later this year, prepare for more changes, albeit subtle. Just like they did with The Lion King, the Disney team is not using the original theatrical presentation of the film, but a re-issue created for IMAX theatres, which featured some redrawn sequences, supposedly necessary because the original footage in question was problematic on the giant IMAX screen (Examples of the changes to The Lion King can be easily found on the web). The difference this time around is that no one ever saw it. The IMAX presentations were financially unrewarding to Disney, and Aladdin was never shown.
The original release had wonderful color composition, especially in the opening scenes introducing Jafar and the Cave Of Wonders, and Pixar’s digital images of The Cave’s exterior would foreshadow their upcoming quality feature work that Disney would distribute. As far as casting, it sounds like Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried had a great time cutting loose in the studio.
With few exceptions, this film is a delight from start to finish. The low rating comes from the fact that the original theatrical version will not be used, but the redrawn IMAX version. It deserves to be part of your collection, but not like this…

I was only 7 years old when the Germans occupied my city in 1940, but I remember many of the events depicted in this documentary. This film is great, especially for those interested in the history of France during the war years, and a reminder of what it was like for those who were there.
I saw this film for extra credit for a college French class. It was wonderful to see so much old news footage and speeches from the 1940s in Europe. It was interesting to see how successfully the Nazis and their French collaborators (some of the French) manipulated their own peoples into thinking a unified Europe under Germany was the only answer. That is all this film is: a collection of newsreels and speeches given by both French and Germans with an English subtitle. Yet it is a wonderfully put together ‘documentary’.

I actually originally picked up Someone Behind The Door on VHS for 99 cents. I was a huge Bronson fan and said “what the hell” and got it. The title and cover did not make the film too appealing, but I was actually taken by total surprise by the film. Fans of Bronson’s action films, don’t expect the same here. This is more of a thought provoking thriller. What got me the most is the great performances by Bronson, Perkins, and Bronson’s then wife . The story centers on brain sergon Anthony Perkins finding amnesia victim Bronson. Perkins takes him in for care and somehow convices him to murder his wife. The ending is spactacular. Smartly written and moves at a brisk pace. Though this is one of Bronson’s more obsecure films, it well worth for fans to check out. This one his rarities that he made while in Italy. The DVD itself is also of very high quality, which is a surprise for such a rare movie.
I am writing this review mainly for someone who might be wondering if the quality of this DVD is good or not. Evidently, the quality of two other older Bronson films,specifically Honor Among Thieves and Cold Sweat, is very poor on DVD. This is not the case with Someone Behind the Door. The DVD quality is excellent and the packaging is top of the line with photos from the film itself on front and back of the DVD case. Someone put alot of work into this DVD and it is well worth purchasing. After a dismal experience with another seller, I ordered my copy from Amazon.com and received it within three days and in perfect condition. I hope this review helps you.

I bought this DVD the day it came out and loved it instantly. But I didn’t really have anything to say about it until watching the ending of another great anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Both the TV and movie versions of that series angered me to no end, but they made me realize how great “Endless Waltz” is.
The ending of the “Gundam Wing” television series wasn’t really that at all. Sure, the ‘bad guys’ were defeated, but anyone who thinks that’s all that matters isn’t a fan of good storytelling. “Endless Waltz” answers pretty much every question you might have about the fates of the characters, and I don’t mean just the Gundam pilots, either. Every important character of the series is brought into play, and even some not-so important ones. As icing on the cake, this DVD also answers many(though not all) questions about the characters from before the start of the series.
The animation, characterization, and excellent soundtrack (”White Reflexion!”) all make up for the fact that the plot is slightly silly and a little cliched. More of a bad guys versus good guys thing as opposed to the complexity of the series. But hey, it’s a movie, how deep do you want them to get, here?
Two more reccomendations. Watch the movie version, as opposed to the OVA version. You’ll be glad you did. It contains extended and all-new footage that really makes the story flow better, plus there’s some great music in certain scenes that were silent in the OVA vesion. Secondly, and this is something I never ever say about anime, watch it dubbed. No, I’m not insane. It’s actually better, I swear to God. I’ve seen it in both languages, and simple lines (such as many of Heero’s) just sounded better delivered in English.
…but what an ending! Told mostly through flashbacks, the story of Endless Waltz is rock-solid. If you’re a fan of the series, this explains the characters backgrounds and how they came to be, which is quite interesting (Trowa’s origin, for example, was not only interesting, it’s shocking). If you’re new to Gundam Wing, well… it wouldn’t be the best place to start… and at the same time, it would be if you don’t want to sit through all those episodes (which is why I liked the flashbacks: I can show it to my friends and they wouldn’t be left out in the cold as to what’s going on in the film). Whenever you try to get someone’s interest in a series, it’s not always easy: nobody really has time to sit through a whole set of tapes/DVDs, and that’s if you even have them; and when you try to show them a movie inspired from the series, they know nothing of the characters, and it seems that most movies expect that you already do (take, for example, Tenchi Forever: you can’t show that to a first-time Tenchi viewer, as it wouldn’t quite register [i.e., no explanation as to how the characters came about]). But, like I said, Endless Waltz gives you a whole background of the characters through the flashbacks, yet, doesn’t take away from those that have followed the series–no easy feet. So what’s the story here? Taking off a year after the Gundam Wing series ended, Mariemeia–the illegitimate daughter of deceased war leader, OZ chief Treize Krushrenada–has made plans to become the ruler of the new nation–thus taking over Earth and the Space Colonies. Obviously, this isn’t good; it’s, as the movie said, “An endless waltz of peace, war, and revolution.” And obviously, our heroes aren’t taking this lightly, either. Past villians are now good guys, the characters are more emotional than ever, and the battle scenes are the best in the entire Gundam Wing series–in fact, I honestly felt this was the peak of everything to the series: the characters have more depth, the story is at its finest, and the battle scenes are beyond amazing. If you’ve seen any of the episodes, you already know about dubbing: it’s perfect. Very few anime titles I’ll say I actually loved the dubbing, but the whole Gundam Wing series is just great. The animation is a bit dated (it was made quite awhile back), but the detail is still sharp. I’ll be honest… the first time I seen Gundam Wing, I didn’t care for it–I’m a Macross/Robotech fan, and I’ll always fell that Macross/Robotech is king when it comes to mecha in anime… but I started liking it after awhile, and I truly feel that this movie represents all of Gundam Wing at its finest. Endless Waltz is a great, action-packed, anime movie that, hopefully, will get the success it truly deserves–definitely do not pass this up when its release day comes.

Perry Mason is as much a part of American culture as apple pie and mom. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone of any age who doesn’t at least recognize the name. Erle Stanley Gardner’s books have millions of devoted fans. The television show it spawned was fabulous as entertainment, and today is widely regarded as one of the best shows the medium ever produced. Perry was the attorney you wanted on your side in a jam.

Raymond Burr had some good roles in films, but will always be remembered as Perry Mason. It was Gardner himself who picked Burr, even though the studio only agreed to let him test for Perry if he would test for Burger too! Barbara Hale was his pretty secretary, Della Street, who kept Perry human and was in love with him. William Hopper was the dapper detective, Paul Drake. He had a playful and flirtatious relationship with Della but every viewer knew that secretly her heart belonged to Perry.
William Talman as D.A. Hamilton Burger would almost be ready to gloat, Lt. Tragg (Ray Collins) not far behind, when Perry would spring his client by revealing the real killer on the witness stand. There has never been anything close to it in genre on television since. Its mix of drama, noir, and humor, and its truly likable characters, made for terrific viewing.

Season four was terrific. Releasing them in half seasons, the first half on volume one, the second on volume two, is indeed an effective but annoying marketing scheme. I agree the price should be lowered, but at the same time agree that entertainment wise, this is an incredible value. So, much like gasoline, you pay what you have to. Hopefully at some point, Amazon or Paramount will make an effort to still make a profit with a sure-fire hit, while giving fans a better purchase price.

This was one of the best dramas ever to hit the air. Seeing it today reminds us just how good television can be, but is often not. It’s a bit of nostalgia and a lot of entertainment for TV fans. Fred Steiner’s “Park Avenue Beat” remains one of the most recognizable themes ever heard. A must for any serious collector.
No doubt the price for this half season release is high and raises the eyebrows of potential buyers. I think we must assume that this price increase is the result of low sales volumes on previous releases. I don’t like the price but I would rather have the DVD’s at the higher price than no release at all. Please don’t let the Perry Mason series follow the lead of Ironside where the studio released two season and then quit!
