I got this DVD for two reasons: “The Last Mastery” and “Lupin in Paradise”. These are the final two episodes in this DVD and I absorb are the best. Man, talk about saving the best for last!

Being obsolete to watching this indicate on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, I was really happy in seeing the DVD’s preservation’s of each episode’s opening and ending themes, although it’s repetitive because they’re all the same. The eyecatches are also preserved.

As usual, I’m disappointed that the episode previews were only matched up with their respective previous episode. That means there’s no preview for the first episode shown, “Sad Panther/My Birthday Pursuit”, but there’s a preview for “Witch in the Fourth Dimension/Auntie Ballistic”, which is in the next DVD, “Mission: Irresistible”.

But all in all, if you like the episodes in Thieves’ Paradise, then by all means, earn it.

I loved this point to based in the comical books of Monkey Punch. It follows the adventures of master thief Lupin the Third nephew of the French Arsene Lupin and his gang unexcited by Goemon Ishikawa a master samurai and Deitsuke Jigen a icy blooded gunman.Sometimes joins to the band Fujiko Mine a bussom resplendent lady expert in conning and also thieving.Where the most considerable or expensive fancy or antique is Lupin the Third and his gang trying to catch it.The Dvd has 5 episodes that are in order as they originally broadcasted with the preview and even the commercials crash. The series are well translated and the voices of the dubbers are quite similar to novel japanese. The only flaw in this Dvd is that the English subtitles are the translation of the Japanese version not the English dubbed version.Sound and report quality are more than average.I will wait for next volume.

After years of crummy re-issues from video companies, Invasion USA finally receives the respect it deserves with a pretty recent DVD “Atomic” edition from Synapse Films and Conelrad (a website devoted to Atomic Culture that, apparently, helped with the special features) .

The movie itself is a laugh riot and the print is unbelievable (finally I can freezeframe the grand Gerald Mohr with crystal clarity), but it is the special features that build this disc a must recall.

Where else is one going to secure the following on objective one DVD: Civil Defense (Terror) Portray albums playing as an alternate audio track. This is a nice alternative to self-absorbed actors and directors talking about their current shots in a film or what lunch they had on any given day of shooting. The classic 1962 Jack Webb short “Red Nightmare” (in a titanic original print) . The Conelrad 100 (a play on the AFI 100? ), an “encyclopedia” of the best “Atomic” Films ever made. This is a grand feature and humorously written. If you’re like me, you’ll come by yourself reading all 100! Cast interviews with the surviving stars of the film: While this fragment is a microscopic rough around the edges, you have to love the dedication of the producers to round of these aging actors tfor one last comment on Invasion USA. Noel Neill is hilarious (she snipes at the other Lois Lane and compares Invasion USA to Pearl Harbor–the movie!) . Dan O’Herlihy is also a riot reading a Fresh York Times pan of Invasion USA that gets his name misspelled!) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Invasion USA! Click Here

All in all a substantial package. If you are the least bit iterested in campy films or the Frosty War, you MUST contain this DVD!

Invasion USA is essentially the grand-daddy of all nuclear war movies, a grand film released in 1953 that almost certainly proved ghastly to movie audiences of that era. Nowadays, the film exudes an aura of campiness and, depending on one’s political viewpoint, draws either laughs or respect (and sometimes both) . Invasion USA is definitely a Wintry Warriors movie, an unforgettable fraction of cinematic propaganda that turned its spotlights clearly on the threat of the Red menace. Making liberal consume of stock footage from World War II, this movie not only offers a vision of Communist invasion but explains why such an invasion might succeed, thus rallying the American people not to retreat into post-war isolationism and materialism. The mark of freedom is eternal vigilance, and this is the message Invasion USA conveyed rather impressively.

I happen to consider this movie is intelligent. I was born in 1970, and I knew the alarm of nuclear war as a child. For those living in the 1950s, the dread of nuclear was an even more pervasive threat – as was Communism. I serene abhor Communism with every fiber of my being, and for me personally the Frosty War will not kill until the number of Communists in the world falls all the scheme to zero. The generation coming of age today does not truly know the gnawingly pervasive threat of intercontinental nuclear war nor do today’s youth remember a world in which the USSR not only existed but cast gloomy shadows across many parts of the world. To many today, the Red Terror conjures up silly images of a fanatical Joseph McCarthy and the John Birch Society looking for Communists under rocks and park benches. Invasion USA will thus strike many viewers today as rather comic, but I regard this as, to some degree, an educational film that offers an insightful notice into the American mind of the 1950s. Certainly, the characters are rather two-dimensional, the dialogue is unintentionally laughable on several occasions, and the ending is likely to perform a few groans among fresh audiences, but the film’s theme and message is not only historically informative but collected, in the broadest sense, relevant and instructive.

The setup and “kicker” region twist at the kill may well leave one with a poor taste in his/her mouth initially, but Invasion USA is serene obliging of resonating over time in the minds of those who leer it. It is really an original film in more ways than one. Not only does it offer a repugnant vision of America subjugated by an unnamed yet ruthless and easily identifiable enemy, it assigns the blame for this possible future defeat on a populace of men and women too concerned with their have lives and desires to examine out for the interests of the nation. One of the characters in the film, for example, is a wealthy tractor manufacturer who impartial turned down a government demand to manufacture needed military tanks, putting profit above patriotism. Complacency and the voluntary wearing of blinders among a population sick of world wars is shown to be the weakest link in America’s contemporary defense. Everybody complains about taxes, concentrates solely on their contain needs, and goes about his/her life pretending that America could never possibly be attacked – script writer Robert Smith clearly communicated the unsafe vulnerability implicit in such a worldview. Invasion USA is a clarion call to a prosperous people courting concern by avoiding a gruesome truth. The film was amazingly effective in delivering this crucial and timely warning to its audience. The same message applies in our absorb world; while the threat comes from a different source, only a vigilant and cooperative attitude among the American people can safeguard our freedoms from those who wish to extinguish us.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Invasion USA! Click Here

Clearly, Invasion USA was a success, one which soon led to similar films built around the horrifying threat of nuclear war. The movie earned more than one million dollars – not too shabby for a film shot in the course of only seven days on a budget of one hundred twenty seven thousand dollars. Stock footage from World War II makes up some 30% of the film. Fictional news broadcasts explaining the progress (or, more correctly, lack of progress) in the war leave room for only so noteworthy sincere human interaction and dialogue – this is perhaps fortunate, as the characters are less than though-provoking in and of themselves. Detached, there is enough of a personal dimension to the tragedy unleashed on film to really bring Invasion USA’s message across to the sympathetic viewer. It’s impossible not to laugh at parts of this movie all these decades later, but there is an eternally famous message – exaggerated as it may be – here that all freedom-loving men and women would do well to ponder over.

So. Yo Gabba Gabba.

How to record this reveal? Inaugurate with the title, which is inspired by the The Ramones’ timeless Teenage Lobotomy creed, then add DJ Lance Rock, who resembles an anorexic Raj from “What’s Happening!”, and save him in a giant orange wig and striped jumpsuit that makes him gawk like the complete opposite of a Buckingham Palace guard. DJ Lance Rock then walks onto a white background with a magical boombox (of COURSE there’s a magical boombox) towards a long buffet table displaying Gabbaland – or as normal people recognize it, a minidioramma that seems as if it was made by a 5th grader with a really short attention span. DJ Lance Rock proceeds to start his boombox, revealing a bunch of generic cartoon monsters that accept magically transported to Gabbaland, where they transform into generic actors dancing around in monster suits (2 of which proudly prove the zipper on the wait on) .

I fancy this point to.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Yo Gabba Gabba!: The Dancey Dance Bunch! Click Here

Why? First of all, the music is catchy. Repetitive? Oh yes. Oh yes. But in a respectable blueprint. You actually don’t mind finding yourself unexpectedly humming these shrimp ditties sometime during the day. Then there’s the cartoon interludes, which rival anything out of Ren&Stimpy, Spongebob Squarepants, and anything else dreamt up by a stoned college frathouse with basic computer animation skills. Then there’s the clips of 5 year ancient kids either dancing (and reminding you “I like to dance”), riding random toys, or scanned into Intellivision games from the 1980’s.

Then there’s the frequent visits from actors and musicians who seem to be “in on the joke.” In 3 minutes, you can easily bounce from Plex the Magic Robot teaching your kids how to brush their teeth, to Impress Mothersbaugh from 80’s alt-punk group Devo instructing you in the finer points of drawing a fish. Skip next to Biz’s Beat of the Day, where Biz Markie invites your kid to learn his latest beatbox riff, followed by an intriguing adventure of Tidy Martian Robot Girl that would do William Hanna and Joe Barbera wail, then on to Nathan who “likes to daaaaance!” (and grooves like he’s in a Kanye West video), which leads to the Yo! Gabba Gabba characters singing and dancing about sharing, follwed by Elijah Wood sharing his Puppetmaster dancey dance. DJ Lance Rock then takes us out of every episode by gripping us to view serve, and remember what we did today. This consists of speedily vignettes of everything covered in that episode, which naturally is mixed into a techno/hip-hop number that includes NYC nightclub electronica/rave special effects in the background.

And somehow, somehow it all comes together. It WORKS. It works for the kids and adults alike. It is at all times a wholesome children’s present, an inside joke to gen-Xers who grew up in the 80’s, a manifesto for the fresh Spongebob college crowd, and a useful tool for parents who want something that the kids will be pleased while learning notable life skills, while making them laugh a petite bit inside about how goofy the whole process of parenthood can truly be.

Our grandaughter loves all of these Yo Gabba Gabba’s. I guess it is the all the sparkling colors. She loves to dance. I could say this is her common, but she loves to peer all of the Yo Gabba Gabba’s the same. She never bores of them.

Who knows would you ever judge that a man wearing a 60’s orange wig with clothes that survey 2 sizes to dinky would bag the attention of preschooler.

The present teaches children about respect and is very educational. 5 star for this one.

Lets be thankful that we are going to soon be treated to restored versions of these classics. I have purchased versions of the Scarlet Claw that were nearly inaudible and blurred. And it has been out of print for some time.

So I am writing this pre-review to inform my Stout Expectations and excitement over the upcoming DVD release of the 14 Sherlock Holmes movies made by Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.

For those of us who have loved and dilapidated out our VHS versions of these films, I am determined that I dispute for many of us in expressing extraordinary anticipation and come shock that someone has finally recognized the need to release a “restored version” of these timeless classics.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Sherlock Holmes Collection, Vol. 2! Click Here

We are told that they have been “Preserved and restored in 35mm by the UCLA Film and Television Archive.” This is profitable and I have already pre-ordered Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 from MPI Home Video.

I so hope that the entire 14 movies, are ultimately released in restored condition. Especially the rarest of them, “The Scarlet Claw” which has rarely been shown on televison and only been available on VHS sporadically.

To me and many others I know, Basil Rathbone is the definative Holmes. Not honest because he looks alarmingly similar -as distinguished as is humanly possible- to Sidney Pagets drawings of Holmes from the Strand Magazine illustrations, but mostly we savor Rathbone because he portrayed the same Holmes that we as readers earn through the buffer of Dr. Watson explaining away not magnifying Holmes’ shortcomings.

Jeremy Brett chose to amplify every negative aspect of Holmes’ personality that in the written versions Watson explained away. Rathbone’s Holmes has been demeaned visciously over the past years and hopefully the respect and dignity that he gave his portrayals will be seen in all their accuracy and glory with these novel digitally restored releases. … these will have to be the best quality versions of these classics ever released…so for all of us who have cursed the incomprehensibly poor releases of these films over the years…our time has almost approach. Point To your befriend for this anxiety by ordering a restored version of American Film Histroy.

Much Thanks to UCLA, MPI, and Whoever was ultimately responsible for the concept of doing this!!!!

I am also waiting with delight at the release of these classics. The dreadful news is the two 20th Century Fox films (the first films Rathbone/Bruce made as the duo) have not been restored – THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES/ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES were not made by Universal and were not fraction of the restoration project at UCLA. This is why chronologically they are not being released first, as the visual condition of these two titles are not as edifying as the restored Universal dozen. I don’t know if any cleaning/remastering has been done on the two Fox titles though.

I was a bit hesitant to ogle this film at first because romantic-love-triangle-comedies all slay the same design. Plus before the movie started, the audience was packed with high school teenagers with their cellphones. (They could litterally fiddle around with them for hours while looking seemingly busy.) But my mom insisted and I obliged. Anyways, the movie turned out to be ravishing sweet and heartwarming.

Melanie Carmichael (aka Melanie Smooter), played by Reese Witherspoon, is an up-and-coming Original York City fashion designer who has honest been proposed to by Andrew (Patrick Dempsey), the mayor’s son. (Quite an impressive proposal I might add, with the Tiffany store commence impartial for them.) There’s only one scrape, she’s collected legally married to Jake (Josh Lucas) in Alabama. That’s where the proper sage begins. Melanie drives aid to her hometown and nags Jake to tag the divorce papers. He drags his feet while Melanie gets some time to acquire reacquainted with his family and friends, whom she left for seven years. She desperately wants to own that she’s a whole current person (with the last-name change and all), and ends up hurting the ones who esteem her. Does she win her divorce and who will she be with in the destroy? Ah, for that you’ll have to perceive the film!

I consider the more engaging aspect of this film is watching Melanie reach to her senses and answer her roots. In Modern York, she might have had to hide up who she really is to gain to where she’s at — changing her last name and fabricating a enormous record about her family. But it was a lie waiting to be exposed. When she goes serve to Alabama and brings this pompous personality benefit with her she is reminded that it won’t win her anything but the disappointed looks of her friends and family; the people she left slack.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Sweet Home Alabama! Click Here

In a nutshell, even though the ending was relatively predictable, the sage is poignant enough and had sufficient comic scenes in it to withhold the audience zigzag. (I particularly liked it when Melanie realizes that being married to Jake means that they level-headed have a joint memoir at the local bank.) Also, I consider Reese Witherspoon gave a helpful performance, and it’s always nice to glance Candice Bergan in a frenzy.

This is one of the better romantic comedies I’ve seen this year.

Witherspoon gives another strong, leading performance that proves she can develop unbiased about any movie seek splendid. She stars as Melanie, a Modern York fashion designer whose dream is about near factual. She’s proposed to by Original York’s most successful and eligable bachelor, who also happens to be the mayor’s son. Before she can say for positive, she snappy travels befriend home to country-side Alabama, to try and pick up a divorce out of her high-school sweetheart Jake (Josh Lucas) . The film was better than I expected. It was beautiful silly and heartwarming, while Reese gives a sweet performance in SWEET HOME ALABAMA. It’s kind of a chick-flick, but proved high for a comedy on my standards. If you’re in the mood for something light and humorous, sweet and spirited, “Alabama” is worth seeing.

Two post-apocalyptic titles on one DVD filled with atmosphere and paranoia, “Terror in the Year Zero” and “The Last Man on Earth” design a potent and engaging double feature. Ray Milland stars and directs the first title a low-budget post-nuclear war saga where Milland tries to protect his family after the world has gone to heck in a handbasket. The film features a very nice print of the movie and the transfer is nice as well.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Panic in Year Zero/The Last Man on Earth! Click Here

“The Last Man on Earth” is adapted by author Richard Matheson (writing under the nom de plume Logan Swanson when he wasn’t blissful with the results of the film) from his classic Science Fiction/horror unusual “I Am Fable”. Impress plays Dr. Robert Morgan the last survivor of a deadly plague that wipes out humanity or so it appears at first. Morgan lost his daughter and wife in the plague. Those affected by the plague turn into vampires (although they gaze more like zombies in this film) who taunt as he’s locked securely unhurried closed doors. His neighbor and finish friend Ben Cortman (Giacomo Rossi-Stuart) . Morgan spends his days searching for food, supplies and killing the vampires.

Morgan meets a woman trying to race the vampire/zombies who appears to be normal. Matheson’s unique unique and his screenplay do a nice job of turning a cliched sage on its head as things are not as they appear to be. Suddenly, it’s called into demand as to who the monster really is–Morgan or the creatures he hunts. remade into the dated science fiction film “The Omega Man” with Charleton Heston and Anthony Zerbe (playing the hero and Cortman called Matthias here) where very puny remains of the state.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Panic in Year Zero/The Last Man on Earth! Click Here

The print looks extremely friendly (particulary compared to other versions floating around from extreme budget DVD companies) . The extras include a brief interview with Richard Matheson where, again, he expresses his displeasure with the film. While the film fails to pick the irritable essence of the book, it has some very effective sequences area in parts of decaying Italy. The film’s tremendous failing is the improper budget and the spend of Rome clearly standing in for the San Francisco status. Other than that,it’s a aesthetic production that could have been a whole lot more if the film had a bigger budget, had been shot in the United States and stayed faithful to Matheson’s current screenplay.

FYI this was originally supposed to be released benefit in April of 2005 but was delayed when Sony purchased MGM. A few copies slipped out but most were recalled although there was no flaw with the discs (Sony/MGM honest elected to assign the series on own) . If you’re thinking about purchasing a cheaper edition, the image quality is better here than on any version I’ve seen to date.

Two films on a double-sided disc:

PANIC IN YEAR ZERO (1962)

This post-nuke survival memoir features Ray Milland (he also directed) as an average middle-class American father who fights to protect his family from pillagers, rapists, and murderers. Forced into brutal resourcefulness and often required to design snap legal decisions, the right challenge that Milland and family face is the struggle to occupy their archaic values in the face of chaos. Yes, it’s one of many SF-ish cold-war dramas, but what sets this one apart from others is Jay Simms and John Morton’s vivid script, which is gritty and relentlessly unsentimental. Unfortunately, it is somewhat hindered by Milland’s mediocre direction and often stilted performance, but it’s serene a better-than-average flick. And it’s refreshing to peer Frankie Avalon–who here does a handsome job playing Milland’s son–in a setting other than a beach.

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964)

This first cinematic incarnation of Richard Matheson’s unique I AM LEGEND–the second was the 1971 Charlton Heston vehicle THE OMEGA MAN–features Vincent Imprint as the sole survivor of a global pandemic that has transformed the rest of mankind into vampire-like zombies. While more accurate to the new than the Heston film, the dart is often excruciatingly tiring,. Smooth, Price’s performance is as tantalizing as ever, and the scenes that flashback to the origin of the plague are very well done and chockfull of grim imagery. Worth a glimpse if for no other reason than to view why George Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING Monotonous (1968) is often compared to it.

*******

The two-sided disc from MGM offers both movies their unusual 2.35:1 widescreen format (enhanced for 16×9 TVs), and the digital transfers are radiant (especially THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, which far outshines the cut-rate DVD releases already floating around) . Each flick is paired with its theatrical trailer, and THE LAST MAN ON EARTH also includes a frigid featurette in which co-scripter Matheson explains why he was poor with the final script and chose to be credited using a pseudonym.

All in all, this double-feature from MGM’s Midnite Movie series is well worth the notice of admission.

This is one beauty of a head-scratcher. It is, literally, 3 movies in one. Al Adamson made the tight-yet-pointless heist film ECHO OF Horror (a/k/a TWO TICKETS TO Dread) in 1964, only to examine it chopped up and intermixed with novel footage several years later (starring John Carradine as an ethical but indignant scientist) and retitled MAN WITH THE SYNTHETIC BRAIN, and sold as a fright cheapie to television. Not to be outdone, he and producer Sam Sherman further complicated matters by adding a third situation strand to the mix (something to do with killer zombies and yet another exasperated scientist, not to mention a rather sickly looking Tommy Kirk), and another current title, BLOOD OF Cross Alarm. In order for the final incarnation to obtain sense, there are flashbacks-within-flashbacks all over the set. There was yet another version, PSYCHO-A-G-GO, which had musical numbers spliced amongst the madness!

Amazingly, it’s quite an delightful viewing experience following the severely warped logic of the memoir, which only gets more confusing with each viewing.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blood of Ghastly Horror! Click Here

Topping it off is some of the best commentary I’ve yet heard on any dvd, provided by Sam Sherman, who promises to some day restore the integrity of Adamson’s ECHO OF Panic to its unique glory (well, one can hope) .

As with Ed Wood, it’s hard not to treasure director Al Adamson’s earnestness, and Vilmos Szigmond’s cinematography (on the ECHO OF Awe portions), despite the worn print dilapidated for the dvd, shows a precocious view for composition. A most current recommendation!

As I sit typing this I’ve concluded that Al Adamson’s 1971 Blood of Foul Fear reigns as the most convoluted mess of a movie that I’ve ever seen in my life. The acting, lighting, directing and editing is of immeasurable obscene quality, and the yarn? Whoa! No movie could possibly bid all that this one claims to, well not competently anyhow.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blood of Ghastly Horror! Click Here

Al’s ‘71 celluloid offspring is no less than 4 films patched clumsily together in a used attempt at creating an toothsome motion represent. It was shot in `chill-o-rama’ but truthfully it should have been `confuse-o-rama’ because the only chill you’ll feel is the whisking of air through the empty position in your wallet where you once had some cash but now you have this DVD.

Blood of Obnoxious Dismay seems to have been doomed to an endless amount of uncertainty from the get-go. Initially it was a jewel heist movie called Two Tickets of Scare (1964) then changed later that same year to Echo of Fright. Awful Al couldn’t sell it; hell he couldn’t give it away. View B was achieve into finish and in 1965 he added some dancing chicks and re-christened it Psycho A Go Go, but tranquil no go (go) . Blooming, he pulls out all the stops and hires waning but always-proficient actor John Carradine to star alongside the cavernous cleavage of Regina Carrol. Seven years after it was originally shot Adamson threw in a `Nam vet gone excited subplot along with a few zombies and some nonsensical voodoo (…), re-titled it Blood of Wicked Awe and off to the drive-in we go.

As if all of this wasn’t puzzling enough `ole Al gave it an alternate moniker for the southern regions that couldn’t or wouldn’t race a movie with `blood’ in it’s title. So The Man with the Synthetic Brain became the determined acknowledge and this also served as the T.V. heed as well. Sound worthy? Well it’s not. There are no tranquil transitions here, impartial slice, slice, cleave, paste and insert. The hair-do’s change chaotically as do the vehicles and décor. You either give into its inanities or you simply turn it off. Producer Sam Sherman said that it was a tremendous hit in Pakistan.

This is one of the better WWII movies about an hurry from a prisoner-of-war camp. The myth is taut and suspenseful. The odds against success are high but we wind up rooting for the man anyway. The guy is blooming, competent, resourceful and self-confident to the point of smugness. No, the guy isn’t played by Steve McQueen. There is no ball-bouncing in a prison cell. The man is Oberleutnant Franz von Werra, played by the German actor Hardy Kruger. Von Werra’s Messerschmitt is shot down over England on September 5, 1940. He is captured, interrogated and sent to a prisoner of war camp for officers. He turned out to be the only German captured on British soil who ever escaped and made it befriend to Germany. Please price that elements of the status are discussed.

Von Werra turns out to be a committed German officer, certain to flee, and with enough drive, ingenuity and luck to hasten from British camps three times. The first time sees him staggering for five days through mud and freezing rain to try to arrive a British port and a neutral ship. When he’s finally recaptured he’s half stupid. The British send him to a distinguished tougher camp in the north. This time he organizes a tunnel dig, figures out how to build untrue identity discs and how to convert rag-tag clothing into something passably civilian. On this shatter von Werra manages to talk himself onto a RAF despicable posing as a Dutch pilot. He’s captured while seated in the cockpit of a Hurricane trying to score it started. He planned to sail succor to Germany. Now the British ship him off to a prisoner-of-war camp in Canada. They figure that’ll acquire the starch out of his determination to return to Germany. They didn’t figure that von Werra would realize the significance of the United States being a neutral country and how terminate the jabber taking him to the camp would be to the Saint Lawrence River border. Distinct enough, in the tedious cool of a Canadian winter (January, 1941), he escapes from the declare, works his contrivance through the snow and freezing drizzle to the mostly frozen river. He finds a boat and finally is picked up on the American side. Our movie ends here, with a sizable smile on von Werra’s frozen face and mumbled “thank yous” to the American border guard who found him.

Through all of this the escapes are carefully shown with a lot of dramatic tension. You can’t relieve but wind up hoping von Werra’s persistence will pay off. Shimmering he’s an keen German pilot, a fighter ace, who is involved to derive wait on to the battles takes a limited of the edge off, but level-headed…

The One That Got Away is filmed in sad and white. There are no sweeping, lovely shots of the countryside. We’re talking unhurried plunge and winter in Britain and Canada. It’s icy and grey. If it’s not snowing, it’s raining. If it’s not raining, it’s drizzling. If it’s not drizzling it’s mild so wintry you’ll want a fire going during the day. The acting is as wintry and competent as the movie.

And what about von Werra after he made it to America? The Canadians tried to pick up him attend. The Americans wanted to send him attend. While everyone was arguing his plot, von Werra slipped across the U. S. border into Mexico, then made his draw assist to Germany by device of Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and Spain. He arrived in Berlin on April 18, 1941. He was assigned to wing on the Eastern front, became an ace again, then was sent with his unit to the Netherlands for rest and refitting. On October 21, 1941, his plane malfunctioned during a training flight and went down in the sea. His body was never recovered. Franz von Werra’s luck had finally race out.

The Location 2 DVD, available from AmazonUK, has no extras but the film transfer looks salubrious.

Hardy Kruger gives an outstanding portrayal of a WWII German Aviator captured and certain to dash by any means.

The intensity of Kruger’s trouble to hurry makes this one of the best movies of its kind. Correct up there with “The Astronomical Rush”

As a great G.I.Joe fan, I couldn’t wait to discover this recent cartoon. However, the computer animation is not that righteous (Destro’s face peer like more moulded jello then a steel cover) and the storyline is out of this world (very unrealistic) . In fact, it appears that Hasbro has taken GI Joe help into the unrealistic world that killed the unusual GI Joe serve in the mid-80’s: meaning introducing crazy storylines mixed with out of this world characters.

If you are a ample fan of the passe 80’s Sunbow series and are a mountainous believer (like me) that the GI Joe movie killed the novel 80’s series, then you will glean this recent computer absorbing movie to be a ruin of money (like I did) .

If you are novel to GI Joe, I would recommend you pass on this movie and come by the two fresh mini-series available on DVD as those two modern mini-series are good to what made GI Joe so celebrated abet in the 80’s.

This failed attempt to resurrect the classic G.I. Joe series comes across with animation, anecdote, and dialogue that belong in cheap game slash scenes. It had the potential of genetically modified Cobra troops and old-school characters reborn, but falls miserably short of the (admittedly already cheesy) quality of the new cartoon. Now, I am rather easy to please, and really enjoyed the traditional cartoon, but this film is mostly a string of mediocre action, ancient character development (or involvement for those who already know them), and bad puns at every turn. All told, the target audience should be more the 10 and younger crowd who have likely had no experience with sincere G.I. Joe. Unique fans from around 20 or older will be sorely disappointed and should avoid the expenditure and wasted 80 minutes.

I first saw this suspense/spy thriller when it was first released in the theaters sometime in the unhurried 1970s, while living in London and working for the American government. There’s nothing that compares with the paranoia associated with seeing a taut view thriller, only to exit the theater into a frigid, foggy leisurely evening in downtown London. The represent it paints of a murderous renegade network operating within the Central Intelligence Agency is both unsightly and plausible, and is delivered by Robert Redford and his production team in a tight, well-developed memoir with a convincing thread of interconnecting events that spins arrangement out of control as the protagonist tries desperately to figure out who is at the center of the state and why he and his cohorts at a special studies institute sponsored by the Agency are targets. For me, this movie is a nonstop roller-coaster streak, with Redford trying in vain to jump off the damn thing before it crashes below!

The level of paranoia as well as the multiple levels of deceit and deception depicted in the film seemed a bit uncommon at the time, but given the temper of the times, it somehow seemed noteworthy more plausible in the backwash of Watergate and all that was revealed about the machinations of the so-called “invisible government” then. The hero’s ability to parse together the facts and learn and adapt as he progresses makes the movie work especially well, and one can picture to his growing frustration as he realizes there unprejudiced may not be any arrangement out alive. And between the margins of the scenes lie some tantalizing questions regarding the role of secrecy in an commence and supposedly democratic society that add a measure of shiny acumen and “gravitas” to the yarn.

So accepted was this movie at the box office that it spawned a number of other peek thrillers in its wake. The film’s cast included not only Redford as the hero, but also starred Fay Dunaway, and Cliff Robertson. This movie makes for an bewitching evening of entertainment, and a surefire diagram to sprint the plain of everyday life with a radiant sage of execute, mayhem, and betrayal. I highly recommend this flick. Appreciate!

What is it about this movie that makes it so compelling? After countless viewings, I mild can’t attach my finger on it — but let’s reflect the crucial elements of “Condor.”

First, the paucity of dialogue — in other words, what Redford displays and emotes rather than says — is considerable. It seems that for the first time in his career, Redford is really challenged to act instead of being objective another aesthetic cinematic face. If ever a man could give the impression of being both petrified and hunted, Redford’s a cinch in “Condor.”

This is also a broad Novel York City film. Its streets, aid alleys, and buildings — in particular, the World Trade Center — all play supporting roles. Sidney Pollack makes beneficial exercise of the then-newly finished twin towers in “Condor,” and this viewer lamented their destruction after watching scenes featuring the main lobby and a top-floor office inhabited by CIA deputy director Cliff Robertson.

The grainy quality of the film, matched with an often funky, sometimes glum soundtrack scored by Dave Grusin, also adds to the aura of “Condor.” It’s as if Pollack attempted to do an American sendup of a French intrigue film. Grusin’s music also is not what you’d examine in a leer film, in that it has not a hint of the James Bond sound. Then again, the film is not a romantic gaze thriller, so it works.

In fact, Pollack and Redford successfuly hiss a post-Watergate paranoia that the citizens’ government is ‘out there’ and will terminate at nothing to hunt down the truth-seeking rogue. Phone taps and plumbers (disguised, this time, as mailmen) abound. Suitably, “Three Days of the Condor” ends with a very anti-establishment message.

This film deserves to be placed in the list of top twenty gargantuan American films of the recent cinematic era (however one judges that) . “Condor” is righteous the first time around and seems to be more delectable with subsequent viewings. Far from being a period fraction, it stands the test of time as a thriller that is also thoughtful.
